The Erring Inmate Filing The False Complaints Against The Jail Officials In Patiala

Officials in the Punjab prisons are discovering it difficult to break the beat on erring criminals worrying a backlash. The senior officers of the Prison Division are perturbed over the increasing variety of “false” cases against jail team registered by criminals on one pretext or other.

While there is actually nothing much in the department to control this, a greater part of them are addicted of drugs, and are trying their best to use their right to grumble to stress on jail team to allow them to use the drugs and breach other standards. Inmates generally complain for visiting of judges, commissioners or any other senior officials.

Recently, an offender registered in Patiala Prison charged a senior officer of giving an offer of Rs 50,000 instead of assisting him get help. He had claimed that officials informed him that a Judge was with him and he can also take help in an NDPS situation.

In other issue, the offender charged jail officials of trying to attack him. In another situation, an offender charged a jail official of recognizing cash from him on the pretext of delivering drugs.

Jail officers said some of the cases could be real but it was difficult to believe small allegations against department team. Recently an offender charged a senior official of asking Rs 500 to allow him home-made meals while another charged an official of being one-sided after his recurring demands to move him to a medical center.

These criminals usually use a strategy viewing senior officials and most of the judges to put the stress on jail officials so that we allow them to use drugs.

DS Bains, who is Principal Assistant, said that he is sure that all problems obtained in his workplace were scrutinized and said that they cannot neglect these problems as some could be authentic however they will make sure that all of these are probed.

The sources also verified that as many as 24 cases are waiting at various stages against Prison Division officials. They said whenever the prisons officials served against widespread use of cell cellular phones and medication, well known criminals has implemented such techniques.
