Punjab Assistant of Medical and Research education Vini Mahajan these days frequented Rajendra Medical center in Patiala. Vini Mahajan was “satisfied” with the medical facility working and the number of patients, hygiene and establishing up of new facilities was involved. She said that medical facility should also take the actions to apprise the patients about accessibility of free drugs for the patients.

When inquired about the issues experienced by the patients in getting 100 % free drugs, Mahajan said that govt. had lately bought drugs worth lakhs, out of these many has been made accessible to the medical facility. She also said that as it was new effort, there can be certain issues in managing stock. However, Mahajan instructed the medical facility regulators to take care of problem at first.

She said 20 per cent posts were lying vacant at the hospital. She said the government would soon advertise for recruitment against the posts. “We tried two time in order to fill the empty posts from amongst PCMS physicians. We will try once more to hire them or depute physicians from outside,” she added.

She also confirmed that 20 % of the posts were empty in hospital. She also said that the govt. in Patiala would soon promote for recruiting for these posts.
