Large Number Of Dispensaries Shut Down In Patiala

The dispensaries of Patiala are facing tremendous problems nowadays. The rural pharmacists are finding it difficult to receive the salaries which they deserve. They are working with a meager earning of around 10000 INR. This is the case for many years and according to the local peoples, the government is reluctant to change the scenario.

Government role regarding these issues of Patiala

Large Number Of Dispensaries Shut Down In Patiala

The government has not taken any steps to save the rural dispensaries of Patiala from going into extinction. The pharmacists and other workers are working in these rural health sectors for more than seven years and yet they are not recognized officially by the government. Their salaries are not yet regularized and this is the reason which has forced these workers to boycott their work and pressurize the government to improve their condition.

This action has raised much public support and the rural population is working united to fight for their rights and make their health sector secured. Despite these actions of the pharmacists, the fact cannot be ignored that at this very moment, large number of dispensaries throughout Patiala are not working and people who are in need of health services are not getting any help. The rural population is accusing the government repeatedly for this disastrous condition where no hope can be seen.

The Supreme Court has ordered for the regularization of these local workers but the state government is continuing to make them work in contracts of six months. The fate of these dedicated workers is not known to them. They are now demanding for a good salary with deserved amount of increments. This is the least they are demanding after seven years of genuine service in Patiala.

Recruitment on the basis of merit in Patiala dispensaries

The government is not willing to solve the problem so easily. It is trying to stop their movement right now by asking the workers to either continue with their jobs or continue the boycott. They further added that the government will recruit new pharmacists and other workers on the basis of merit if required.

This has further increased the problem since the old workers are not willing to give a test of their merits. They know very well that their certificates are old when it was very difficult to secure good marks and thus they can’t compete with the pharmacists who passed out recently by securing marks from the universities which are only concerned of money and are providing great marks. None really knows what will be the final outcome of this problematic situation of Patiala.
