Kali Devi Temple
Kali Devi Temple is a highly respected sacred place of worship for Hindus. This temple was built by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. He brings 6-ft large statue of Kali from Bengal to Patiala. This temple was dedicated to Goddess “Durga”. It is situated on Mall Road of Patiala opposite to Baradari Garden. It was constructed by royal family of Patiala. This grand temple is a main attraction of old Patiala. A huge tombstone of Kali Devi is placed inside the temple. Many disciples of Goddess Kali from near and far visit the temple .They come here in search of perpetual happiness. The atmosphere of the temple provides relief and peace to mind. Premises of temple are far away from cities fast life. This temple is a real witness of old customs. It holds these customs thoroughly from the ages and motivates the followers of Kali to do the same.

The architectural structure of the temple is made of superb walls with marvelous sceneries and frieze paintings on it. These enlarges the grace of shrine. This is the reason it is considered as a” national monument”. These paintings on the walls depict tourist’s actual beauty of enormous construction of structure. The temple have some Sanskrit Patras (manuscript leaves).It is believed that Ved Vyasa is a writer of these scripts. Maharaj Narinder Singh brought these leaves from Badri Narain Temple situated in Uttar Pradesh. Followers especially visit this temple on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Large number of people visits this temple during the months of April and October.
