Punjab Government Is Yet To Pay The Awaiting Medical Costs Of LPU Student In Patiala

The private hospital in Patiala has claimed that the state government has not given any type of directions or any other written assurance to reimburse the pending payment of approximately twenty five lakhs rupees which were spent on Yannick Nihangaza who was admitted in the hospital after the attacks on him in Jalandhar. The Kanishka Nohria who is the general manager in Columbia Asia hospital said that they had not yet got any type of written commitment from the side of state government for reimbursement of the expenses which incurred in Burundi national.

The Punjab government had extended a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs towards medical expenses for Yannick. But the expenses incurred on the Burundi national, who is still admitted here are much more, hospital sources said.

The hospital sources further confirmed that the governments has given the amount of five lakhs rupees for the medical expenses of the Yannick however, the expenses which incurred on Burundi national were lot more.

Particularly, in the month of January in current this year the hospital sent bill of approximately 30 lakhs rupees to Punjab government for the reimbursement.

It is quite evident fact that Yannick Nihangaza who is twenty three years old and is the student of B sc computers was attacked in Jalandhar by the group of some youngster on the date of April 2012. He was severely beaten by them and attacked by the stones and left at the roadside. However, some people who passed from that area took him to the hospital and were then shifted to Columbia Asia Hospital.
